Theatre, Art and Sunshine in London

London
Globe Theatre (behind the curtain)

London greeted us with very untypically stunning blue skies and sunlight beneath which we spent five very educational and eventful days.
Our project-weeks main topics were art, British culture and history with a pinch of true crime. We experienced a detailed tour of the city and visited the Globe theatre and Tate Britain where we learned many interesting facts about London, as well as getting a close look of famous older and newer art pieces and buildings. Additionally, we participated in a workshop of the Globe Theatre, where we discovered how actors knew in Shakespearean times what the situation of a scene was like, without knowing anything but their own line, which had hidden clues. It also got creepy when we attended a tour in the London Dungeon and one about Jack the Ripper, but contrastingly we had a good laugh at the Secret Comedy Club.
All in all, we had a lot of fun with each other and also with our teachers Mrs. Spiegel and Mr. Unterthiner, improved our English and learned that London is not only super fun, but also super expensive. – Lioba Heitzer, 4CHW
